Reed Norton is a correspondent and is after a story on the stage hold-up that happened seven days ago. He came all the way to Dodge as he wanted the real story and not some romanticized story. He expects Marshal Matt Dillon to give him a tall tale of life in the West but Norton comes to see that even though men living in the West wear guns life is not that much different from living in any other place. Man makes mistakes in the West just like they do everywhere else.
