It is 2:00pm the afternoon of October 17th 1926. Captain Clint Stansen of Texas Ranger Company B is seated in his office. Across the desk from him sits a woman sobbing bitterly. Mrs Wendle from Ames County tells him that her husband Edward was murdered by Ray Thorpe and he wasn’t even arrested The grand jury said that according to the evidence Thorpe killed her husband in self defence as three witnesses attested to that. Mrs Wendle knows they were lying as her husband never carried a gun.
