This mysterious tale opens with Miss Paula Webb, an attractive young lady, shooting her ex-lover, Max in his office. However, after some incredible twists and turns in the story, after meeting with Dr Morelle she insists that she did shoot him, but didn't kill him - and that Max must have committed suicide. She wants to be absolved from the murder, but will Dr Morelle agree?
