Tonto rode into Gopher Bend leading a white horse with a black star on its forehead. It was Victor, the horse that belonged to the Lone Ranger's fourteen year old nephew, Dan Reid. The Indian dismounted in front of the Sheriff's office, and as he tossed the reins to a hitch rail, he heard the voice of Sheriff Bates, questioning why he was there, and offering him a seat up on the porch whilst he waited for the stage coach to arrive. Another couple were also waiting for the stage to arrive, and they were hoping it would bring them good news.
