Today's story began as California and Hoppy were heading back to the Bar 20. They had detoured around to a friend called McDowell McDonald, who was a Scotsman. At the time, Quincy was a hustling town in the panhandle, and wasn't much different to any other cowtowns, except for the owner of its hotel, who still smelled of the highlands.
