When Tim Tulley went to live with his niece Sadie, and her young husband Gerry Dunn, folks thought that the old prospector had found peace and contentment. But his niece knew better, and she knew why he hadn't. One day, they found that the old man had gone, and had charged his grub stake to Gerry's account at the general store. Some time later, the Lone Ranger and Tonto found old man cooking bacon, up in the mountains. They joined him, and he told them about how he had gone to live with Sarah and Gerry, but had known he was a burden. He had found some gold nuggets a few days before, and asked if Tonto could pay off the bill at the store on his behalf. Tim had come to the mountains to die, and the Lone Ranger gave him a map to a place where he could find peace. Back in the town of Porcupine, two strangers were at the store when Tonto came to pay off the bill. Their ears pricked up at the news old Tim had struck it rich in the superstition hills, and they fully intended to find the old fellow and jump his claim...
