Cheyenne was named by General Dodge after the Indian tribes. It sprang into providence when it became the western terminus of the Union Pacific, and within six months was one of the most lawless towns in the new frontier! Every Saturday night, there were fights between the railroad men and the cowboys who crowded the cafes. Sometimes in the dead of night, the Cheyennes would swoop down the new community, looting and killing, and outlaws were attracted from all over the west, to a town where the only law was gun law. However, the honest folks in the town wanted there to be law in the land, but they needed a majority vote in the town for that to happen...
