Luke and Bill were hanging out in the country planning on robbing the bank in Dodge in the middle of the day when the sun was high in the sky and the whole town would be sleepy. Then they discovered Chester nearby fishing and figured that he had overheard them talking. Knowing who he is they decide it is not a good idea to kill him as the Marshall would be soon outlooking for him. They tell him he has to help them by making sure that Marshall Matt Dillon is no where near town at 3:00pm that afternoon otherwise they will kill Kitty or the Doc.
