At the territorial prison, two men stood together for a moment inside one of cells. As they stood near the cell door, staring down the long corridor, they talked about when the other was getting out. Sam Pierce was leaving today, but he had promised to meet Ken outside the gates in two weeks on his own release date, so that Ken could join him in Harry Conger's gang of outlaws. Two weeks later, as promised, Sam was waiting outside of the gates with a horse and gun for young twenty two year old Ken. But instead of pressing him to join the gang, he tried hard to convince him to leave and make a fresh start somewhere. It was no use though, Ken wanted fast money, and the way to that was through being on the wrong side of the law...
