Jed insists that his wife Liz gets rid of her mangy black cat and she plain out refuses. Later Jed and Liz receive a letter concerning an old friend who has died. He has sent each of them half of a map, which together shows where his fortune gold claim can be found. When Jed pays someone to get rid of the cat in the mountains he is shocked when his wife tells him that she put her half of the map under her cats collar.
