Mr Gerard lets young Johnny Macklin have two unmarked guns for $100,00 each but Jim doesn’t have the money and promises to bring it in two hours before midnight. However the robbery that Johnny and his pal Fred are involved in goes wrong and Fred is killed and Johnny is injured and caught. Seems like there is no case to solve but what concerns Nick Carter more is that someone is in the business of professionally removing serial numbers from firearms and selling them on to crooks.
