Art Bradley manager of the Red Goose calls Nick Carter’s office and tells his secretary Patsy that his girl singer has just died. She was all right a half hour ago but when he went in her room just now she was slumped on the floor dead. He didn’t want to involve the police as it could lose his nightclub business but Patsy tells him if he suspects unnatural causes he must inform the police. Patsy lets Sergeant Mathison know but her curiosity gets the better of her so she and reporter Scubby turn up at the scene. Nick Carter is out of town at the moment.
