When Joe Gibbs used to deliver the Evening Gazette after school, Nick Carter was his best customer. When Joe grew up and got into trouble with the law, Nick helped him to get a parole from the State Penitentiary. Then, when Joe married Edna Marsh, he asked Nick to be his best man, and Nick's assistant, Patsy Bowen, was Edna's bridesmaid. On their first wedding anniversary, here they are with Nick again, as Joe has been drinking, and has gotten himself in trouble with the law again.
