It all started when a carnival dancer named Diane called Michael Shayne and told him to come over to her hotel and pick up the other half of a fifty buck note she’d left in his desk the night before. Just as he was getting ready to leave his office in came a character named Landowe who ran the carnival and who wanted Shayne to find his missing dancer, Diane. Shayne thought this was going to be an easy case but when he arrived at Diane’s hotel room he found her strangled.
