Jake Denham owns a big cattle ranch the Lazy JD in a small town called Craig in Colorado and calls Johnny Dollar inviting him to spend some time there with some lame excuse that his initials are also JD and that he might have some useful material for his radio program about all the insurance cases he handles. Jake also has a policy with Tri Western one of the companies Johnny works for but he assures Johnny that nothing is wrong. Johnny Dollar agrees to go after he has written some reports up in two days however the reports take him four days and when he finally gets to the Lazy JD Ranch he is informed by Mrs Denham that that Jake is dead and she thinks he was murdered.
