Harry Baker gives Blackie $5000 just so he can spend one night in Blackie’s apartment. The next morning Baker wants to know the time but every clock and watch in Blackie’s apartment has been broken, the radio is dead and the telephone is out of order. Baker runs out of the apartment and is shot and both Blackie and Inspector faraday are stumped for motives and clues.
