The simple man we have chosen to be our hero is confined in the Black Room, a bare place without light or sound but by chance or fate or the mercy of god he has found a companion, a mouse no bigger than his thumb. This tiny creature has become his sole defence against the terror of being alone.

 Superb acting in this excellent thought provoking story along the same lines as Anton Chekhov's The Bet.
