Upholding the law in the wild west was really a full time job and many’s the time Wild Bill Hickok and Jingles were away from home from days and even months at a time. The famous United States Marshall and his deputy made up for it though when they got to a small western town where they could stay at a hotel and enjoy a regular meal for a change. It was just such a stop on one of their trips that started them on the trail of the Black Canyon Gang.
