Colonel Robert R McCormick speaks today on the 175th anniversary of the Battle of Lexington. After his address, the operetta of Noel Coward begins. Set in both 19th-century and early 20th-century England and Austria-Hungary, the plot revolves around Sarah Millican, a young woman longing for excitement beyond the confines of her respectable, yet stifling, middle-class life. Enter Stefan, a charismatic Hungarian music teacher, who ignites a spark of passion within Sarah. Their whirlwind romance culminates in a scandalous elopement, propelling them into a bohemian life filled with music and laughter. But the sweetness of their escape is soon tinged with bitterness. Years pass, marked by financial struggles, fading dreams, and the painful realization that happiness can be as fleeting as a melody. As the past and present entwine, Sarah finds herself reminiscing about her youthful naivety and the bittersweet legacy of her choices.
