Let’s look in our friend the great Gildersleeve as he winds up the year 1944. It’s the day before New Year in Summerfield and Gildersleeve after considerable pressure from Leroy and with considerable reluctance on his own part finds himself at last on skates. That is he stands nervously on his old rockers at the edge of Tolly’s pond while Leroy and Marjory cut fancy figures on their new Christmas skates.
