Christmas comes to the L.A. Police Department. A call comes in to the burglary division while Friday is writing his holiday cards; a statue of the baby Jesus has been stolen from a historic Spanish church. The priest implores Friday and Partner Frank Smith to find the statue before Christmas day mass, the next morning. A charming, even poetic, Dragnet (the description of the church is impressive). One that captures the spirit of Holidays and pulls at the heartstrings (though through it all, Friday is as stoic as ever). Reviewed by Sarah B.
