Before the story begins Martin Lewis the associate editor of Radio Guide makes an important announcement and pays tribute to The Cavalcade of America.

As an overture Don Vorhees and the Dupont Cavalcade Orchestra play George Gershwin’s A Foggy Day from the musical picture A Damsel In Distress.

Cavalcade tells the story of The Big Brothers an organization that has brought a new life and untold happiness to so many little brothers at times when their futures hung between a career of crime and wasted existence on the one hand and a life of usefulness and service to their families and friends on the other.

While the characters portrayed in this story are fictitious the events told are based on facts.
