Fred and Jack reminisce about their time working together in Vaudeville and Jack tells us of the time when he first met Fred when they were both appearing at the Metropolitan. Jack told Fred of his new idea for a radio program Benny’s Boulevard where he would start knocking on doors and ask topical questions of four people, a Southern Senator, a rube who says “howdy bub”, a Bronx housewife and an Irish man. Fred stole Benny’s idea and that’s why he hates him so much. However that is not the way that Fred Allen tells it!
