Bedtime Story was a 1941 Columbia pictures screen hit comedy. Jane Drake is an actress and Luke her husband is a playwright. After seven years performing eight times a week Jane is looking forward to giving up the stage to live on a farm in Connecticut. However her husband Luke has written another play and has no intention of retiring. Annoyed Jane refuses to be in another play and goes out with banker Dudley Williams.
