It’s a fine spring evening in the suburbs of Los Angeles where the Riley’s live. War worker Riley has just returned to the bosom of his family and is receiving a communiqué on current events at home. Uncle Baxter receives a letter from his brother Buckley Turnbull in New York offering him a job. Riley keen to get rid of uncle Baxter offers him the money to buy a ticket to go to New York but trying to get transportation from Los Angeles to New York is proving impossible. It looks like after two years with the Riley's, to Chester's dismay, he's going to be stuck with uncle Baxter longer. Then Riley's friend Waldo comes up with a way of getting Baxter to New York and Chester is happy to have his Morris chair back. But on no, his happiness is short lived!
