Today's Cavalcade is a story of medical conquest - the conquest of epidemic disease. The story starts in the dark ages, where leprosy and other disease was rife. It's hard to believe that the overwhelming majority of the human race who died, were convinced that the disease consuming them was caused by the evil influence of supernatural power, demons, and invisible spirits.
