The play has three central characters, a baker, the American Revolution and a loaf of bread. The bakers name was Christopher Ludwig and he was an elderly man who lived in Philadelphia. He was not famous and yet he was not merely Christopher the baker but a symbol of all the thousands who made our history and who have not been recognised in our history.
