Bobby and his sister with their baby brother think they are playing a game when their parents are away. Bobby shoots a gun out of the window and hits the tyre of a station wagon. When the driver stops to change the tyre the kids tell him they are looking for the sheriff. They tell him have eaten everything in the house. They are acting very strange for kids so he takes them home and discovers they have locked their carer Mrs Callaghan in the cellar as she didn't want to play any more.  Bobby is taking his game of pretend too far and the driver has to pretend he is the sheriff and take on other roles in their game to stop Bobby from getting over excited and shooting him.
