A wealthy art collector whose recent purchase, a gruesome oriental idol, has brought him a series of mysterious threatening messages hires George Valentine. Valentine agrees to keep the idol and tracks the threads back to their source and so far he has found at least three people who are trying to get possession of it and he winds up a hard night unconscious on the floor of his apartment.
