In the great Southwest, a range of high mountains extends as far as the eye can see. This is mining country, silver and gold. Halfway down the mountain is a tiny village, the mining town of Rainbow, a raucous sort of place composed of a number of stores, many saloons and a federal land office where the fortune hunters file their claims. 15 years ago Rainbow was a rip roaring village, and in the back room of the Crystal Palace Bar, a young man and a young woman hold an earnest conversation.
