Philip Gault, known to the underworld as the Whisperer has set in motion the syndicates plans to kill Thomas Farrow newspaper reporter who has been uncovering some of the syndicate’s activities. Then in his real identity as Philip Gault councillor of law he sent Helen Norris to keep Farrow from going to the Club 17. But Farrow became suspicious and heads for the club where a killer waits for him.
