Valerie Ellis had a gambling problem and had gambled their $7000 savings bonds away. On top of that she also owed the casino $5000 which she had to pay by the end of the week. They didn’t have the money to pay so she pleaded with her husband Harold Ellis to go and see the owner Curt Creegan. When he agreed Valerie made an appointment for him to talk with Creegan the next day, an appointment that ends up with Harold Ellis being framed for the murder of Creegan’s business partner.
