Appassionata

Today we present a story written by the host of Hallmark Playhouse, James Hilton. The hero is a great pianist, and the story begins some years ago, against the background of a world in which half of humanity was pitted against the other. Andre is playing Beethoven's Appassionata to a half empty hall in an American state. Listening to the fiery master, brooding over the keyboard, one sensed a strangeness about his performance, and wondered what must be going through his mind to perform so magnificently.
