Mr Cranby is the manager of the Far Eastern Company. When he went down to the store this morning the night watchman was missing along with $50,000 in unset gems. The jewels were on consignment to the store and Cranby wants Richard Diamond to recover them before he has to report them missing to the owner, Philip J Lansdowne.
