Since the beginning of time songs have played a vital part in the history of our civilization. There are songs that nourish a nations heart, songs half sung yet all divine. There are old songs and new songs, gay sons and blue songs and then there’s the song that bounces innocently about the breakfast room of a certain white-framed house on Maple Street in the unsuspecting city of Springfield. That’s a mysterious sort of song and it can lead to all sorts of things. It is the key to Father remembering what Mrs Anderson thinks he’s remembered because she thinks he is still an old romantic. Oh dear!
