Two weeks ago Annie Jones's husband had died after a cave in on the rocks by the river. They suspected that he had fallen and banged his head as his body was found further upstream. She still hadn't got over it but was not planning moving and decided to mine her husbands claim. Sergeant Preston offered her a dog called Jinx to keep her company and for security. If only her husband had had a dog like Jinx he may still be  alive.
