Ann Sheridan is the Mistress of Ceremonies and opens the show by singing As Time Goes By from the picture Casablanca starring Humphrey Bogart. Wee Bonnie Baker then joins Ann to share letters from the soldiers posted overseas and sing Billy (I Always Dream of Bill). Jose Iturbi then plays Chopin's Waltz in A Flat, before Paul Whiteman and Gracie Allen join the show.
