The Lone Ranger and Tonto were riding toward Indian territory, where danger threatened the new settlers there. They were passing through the turbulent mining town of Goldville, when the Lone Ranger stopped with Tonto to observe an angry mob that milled around the Sheriff's office, demanding he hand over an inmate. The Sheriff soon came out to address the mob, to tell them that Bill Banks was inside, and was being held for murder. He wouldn't be handing him over to any mob. Two men in particular looked disappointed that their rousing of the crowd hadn't panned out the way they had hoped, and as the mob dispersed, the Lone Ranger decided to stay around the town for a little while, to keep an eye on the two men...
