Gayle is engaged to Larry Warner but he has been overseas for two years now. Now while helping out at the hospital she meets Dr. Graham who wants to marry her. Gayle thinks that her and Larry have grown apart even though Dr. Christian explains to her that when a man is at war he can often suffer from battle fatigue and find it hard to keep in touch. Dr. Christian is concerned that she has given up on  Larry as he believes that they are meant to be together. When Larry finally comes after suffering from Malaria Dr. Christian hopes that he and Gayle can patch things up but it may be too late when Dr. Christian and Nurse Judy discover that Gayle has eloped with Dr. Graham.
