Our story today opens at the River's End rail road station, where Dr Christian just returned from an out of town call, is waiting for Judy to pick him up in the car. Sitting next to him on the bench is a pretty young lieutenant of the Women's Army Corps. Dr Christian recognises her as Eileen the sweetheart of Mike Taylor. Dr Christian thinks Mike Taylor as a civilian is finding it hard to recognise Lieutenant Eileen as a woman anymore and feels that Eileen needs to somehow show Mike that she is proud of him and of the job that he does. Dr Christian recognises that although they are struggling to appreciate each other they love each other deeply.
