All the Kings Men

Broadcast: 16th January 1949
Added: Jan 16 2007

All The Kings Men is a dramatic story of political intrigue set in a southern state with a central character, Willie Stark, who is suggested by the late Governor Huey Long. The style is racy, colloquial and very skilful. In the novel and this dramatization Jack Burden tells the story and it is his story as much as it is Willie Starks and perhaps it is more. Willie Stark acts and his actions are both good and bad though he acts and does not reflect. Jack Burden reflects trying to understand the significance of Willie’s life and his own.
