When a small cabin, about ten miles west of Centerville, went up in flames, Kestler, the manager of the neighboring Box E outfit, struggled with old Ives Dobson, the cabin's owner, to stop him going inside. His wife was wringing her hands in despair, but the two cowhands Kestler had brought with him seemed to enjoy the situation as much as their employer. It wasn't the first time homesteaders had been driven from the area, and Kestler always seemed to be somewhere nearby when the 'accidents' happened that drove them away...
