Banker Joe Deal was working overtime to balance his accounts. A lamp burned in his office, where he sat at his desk near the large iron safe. The safe was open, but the windows were locked and the shutters closed. Deal had locked the outer door from the inside and put the key into his pocket, and as an extra precaution had locked the office doors as well. He felt quite secure until he thought he heard a creaking board from the large room beyond the office... Before he could comprehend what was happening, there was a gunshot, a crash, and the door burst open as the lock gave way! He was being robbed!
