The stout little figure of William IV approaches. He was born in Buckingham Palace on the 21st August 1765, and was the third son of George III and Queen Charlotte. Rough, garrulous and bustling in his movements, and determined in character without much intelligence, but with great good nature and love for his fellow man, William IV was one of England's most beloved sovereigns.
