Ma had an idea for tonight. Seeing Joseph feeling so abused and alone, feeling the town was against him after they had meddled in his great romance with Miss Morrison, Ma thought that maybe if Miss Morrison and Mr Sinclair were to come by for supper, it might snap Joe out of it. He'd see that there was nothing underhand going on, and that Miss Morrison wasn't sore at him because of all the gossiping.
