Mary Anderson's sister Betty has announced that she is coming to visit them, and it's thrown Mary into hysterics - since she's going to be arriving tomorrow. Mary wants to remodel the house - and her sister's room simply must have a chaise longue in it, because she knows that Betty has one - but Oliver can't see why he should buy new furniture for the house, just to impress his sister-in-law.
