The two young boys, Jimmy and Billy Maynard, twin brothers set off on a hike and have been warned by their parents to stay away from the lake if Mr Miller was not around. They see a cave on the side of a hill and decide to investigate it. Jimmy falls down a big wet hole and Billy goes off to Griff Miller’s for help. Jimmy is ok and the Doc diagnoses a sprained ankle. Doc gets to wonder what the hole is in the cave on Griff Millers land and discovers it is a mineshaft with a rich vein of gold.
