A fierce figure, brandishing a mighty battle axe and riding a wild-eyed steed approaches. It is Richard I, the third son of Henry II, also known as Richard the Lionheart. He was born on September 8th 1157 at Oxford, but was reared among the knights in Aquitaine which duchy was inherited from his infamous mother, Eleanor. Richard was crowned the King of England at Westminster on 5th July 1189.
