The chief of police is chatting with Doc Adams when he notices the same stranger walking the streets that he has seen for the past few days so decides to approach him. He tells the chief that Johnny Kemp is getting him a job. The chief immediately assumes that he is a crook and gives him a lecture. Then in his own kindly way the Doc subtly teaches the chief a lesson of his own.
