Kitt Mead, Bill's wife had returned from California a short while ago, and had introduced Bill to the baby son which had supposedly been born while she was away. After she put the baby to bed, Kitt and Bill had joined her father in the living room of the apartment Ben had arranged for them in his house on 11th Street. Whilst making a drink of tea down in the kitchen, Bill begins thinking about the future...
